
Dr. Platt grew up in a small town in Wyoming. He graduated college from Brigham Young University with a BS in Physiology and Developmental Biology in 2011. While at BYU he married his wife Carissa. Following college they moved to Portland where Dr. Platt attended dental school at Oregon Health and Science University. While in dental school Dr. Platt excelled and gained a strong passion to perform dentistry at the highest level. He did research in dental materials and won numerous awards including, The Terri Monetti Memorial Award for Excellence, The Kaiser Permanente Advanced Education Scholarship, The American College of Prosthodontics Award, The Academy of Dental Materials Award, The Educator Award Certificate of Recognition, and was an inductee into Omicron Kappa Upsilon. While in dental school he had 3 beautiful daughters and balanced school and family life. He graduated with high honors ranked in the top ten of his class with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2015.
While in dental school Dr. Platt gained a love for esthetic and complex comprehensive restorative dentistry. Some of his most influential mentors in school were prosthodontic specialists and Dr. Platt gained a strong appreciation of the specialty level knowledge they demonstrated in performing complex restorative, implant, and cosmetic dental treatment. These mentors inspired him to continue his training after dental school and become a prosthodontist.
After graduating dental school in 2015, Dr. Platt started a prosthodontics residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. While in residency he gained an in depth knowledge of advanced restorative dental procedures. He was able to learn under the direct tutelage of world renowned leaders in implantology, occlusion, TMJ disorders, sleep apnea, “teeth in a day”, and more. He has gained ample experience in performing full mouth rehabilitations, cosmetic rehabilitations, immediate load fixed implant prosthetics (teeth in a day), implant restorations, implant assisted and traditional complete and partial dentures, maxillofacial prosthetics and more. Dr. Platt graduated with his prosthodontics certificate in 2018 and moved back to the Northwest with his family and soon after, welcomed a son to his family. In 2019 he became a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists by earning his board certification.
Dr. Platt is very involved in continuing education. He is very active in the local Seattle Study Club and also leads the local Spear Study Club in Vancouver.
Outside of dentistry Dr. Platt enjoys being with his family. He stays busy spending time with his wife, 3 daughters and one son. He enjoys outdoor activities with his family including bike rides, hiking, going to the beach, and playing in the yard.

Terri Monetti Memorial Award for Excellence: This is an award given annually to one dental student at OHSU at the end of the 2nd year of dental school. It is a fixed prosthodontic award in which several students are nominated by professors, and the winner is chosen by peers. It is an award given "to a sophomore who demonstrates interest and excellence in academic and technical aspects of fixed prosthodontics, and who shares time and skills with classmates."
